Back to the Carolinas

Writer's picture: StephanieStephanie

We made it! Coast to coast and back again, we pulled into South Carolina on Sunday, May 1. We'd traveled thousands of miles and several states. We were gone for months. And yet when we exited off 85 onto familiar roads it felt strangely as if we'd never left. I'd never understood how Narnian time could exist or feel but now I do. It's like we walked back through the wardrobe after a grand adventure and no time had passed and nothing here had changed.

We've changed though. The kids are several inches taller (and their hair several inches longer). We've seen places and met people who are still out there, living their adventures, while we have returned to the familiar.

There's a lot to unpack. Thoughts and things.

We're staying with my parents last week and this one but then headed to a nearby campground for the rest of this month and the next. It's funny - we're in a house that doesn't move and yet all of us feel a bit rocked. Is there such a thing as RV legs? You feel unstable until you catch on to the rhythm of nomadic life and then once you pause again you feel off? Probably. We're enjoying our time with family and looking forward to going "home."

I'll keep updating! This was just the conclusion of Season 1 of Wildflowers Adventures!
