While exploring new areas, we updated the blog to keep family and friends in the loop on our adventures. At the beginning of May, we returned to the Carolinas and we have enjoyed several weeks with family and friends…. iin the meantime, we have failed to post an update for those who aren’t currently here with us!
A quick synopsis since the end of “Season 1”:
We spent time in two different campgrounds in the Anderson, SC area in the month of May - making new friends and helping other RVers with their repair needs.
Josh found his footing with repairs and inspections but it was slow going and the calls were not as frequent as we thought they would be in this area, even with increased jobs while staying in the RV campgrounds.
In June we spent two weeks in Myrtle Beach and Josh worked almost every day we were there - mainly doing inspections. We showed our location as “active” in the Myrtle Beach area the day before we left and we scheduled two jobs on the drive down. It was an answer to our prayer that God would give us “data” in order to make an educated decision on where to spend our fall/winter rather than taking hypotheticals and making a wild guess. We still don’t know what the market will look like over the fall and winter in Myrtle Beach but we feel confident to make a go of it there for the last quarter of this year and the start of next year. We’re still living this crazy one-step-at-a-time nomadic adventure!
We returned from the coast in time to spend a week+ at my (Steph’s) parents' house as we enjoyed a family reunion of sorts as four of the five sibling groups were able to be together for several days.
Immediately following the Terranova reunion we headed to the Outer Banks of NC to spend a week of reunion (minus one sibling group) with Josh’s family. It was several wonderful whirlwind weeks.
We are currently back in Anderson and staying at my parents’ home which they have graciously shared with us as the temperatures soar to the high 90s each day with 100% humidity and living in a camper in these conditions is less than ideal. Josh is still working the calls that come in while we are here and we are also grateful for the opportunities we have been afforded to help family and friends handle projects as well as spending time with my grandmother (the kids’ sole remaining great-grandparent) while she is visiting my parents.
The coastline is calling us back, and we will hopefully be headed there at the beginning of September when the summer crowds (and costs) subside.
Caden turned 7 years old yesterday! Thus begins the 9 weeks each year where the kids are consecutive ages! It makes me smile. They are now 7, 8, and 9.
We will hopefully do a better job of keeping you posted!
(Photos are in no particular order because "done" is my favorite way of completing tasks now.)
